Crime Stoppers needs information on a continuing problem around Hood County.  The citizens in the outlining areas are having an increasing problem with dumping of all kinds, household pets, and trash. This is the time of year, for puppies and kittens, sometimes, they are not wanted.  But, instead of finding them a good home, or taking them to a shelter, they are dumped on the side of the road out in the country.  They are left alone to get hit by a car, eaten by a coyote, or starve to death.  On one rural road, so far this year, fourteen (14) puppies have been dumped.  This offense goes from a Class C Misdemeanor, all the way up to a Felony.  Another type of dumping is trash.  Trash dumping can also, start as Misdemeanor, but, can be increased, to a Felony.  If you see someone dumping animals or trash, attempt to get the license number, and, a description of the person dumping, call it into the Sheriff’s Office at 817-579-3307, or call Crime Stoppers, to be eligible for a reward.

.

Anyone with information in reference to Illegal Dumping of Animals, or Trash, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 817-573-TIPS (8477) or you may go online to the Hood County Crime Stoppers website: hoodcountycrimestoppers.com to submit a tip online.
