On August 22, 2020 at 2:23 p.m., 3 unknown black males traveling westbound in a black Hyundai sedan on I-4 near the Hillsborough Ave. exit ramp pulled up to the left side of the victims Toyota sedan and shot several times. The victim's vehicle was struck by 6 bullets, penetrating the vehicle from the trunk to the driver's door. The victim, a 35 yoa male from Tampa, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

On August 20, 2020 at 11:10 p.m. a 17 year old female, who was walking on I-75, was struck and killed by a large vehicle. Investigators believe a semi-truck traveling just north of the Sun City Center (Highway 674) exit struck the female. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene going southbound on the interstate.

Plant City PD Detectives Ask for Information from the Public In Shooting Investigation

On August 21, 2020 at 1:49 a.m., in the 1800 block of E. Alabama Street in Plant City, officers discovered a male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a local hospital where he died as a result of the injuries he sustained. The victim has been identified as Kenneth (Kenny) R. Coleman Jr., 14 years old, from Gainesville.

TPD Detectives Look for Suspects in Battery of 7-Eleven Employee

On August 9, 2020 at 3:15 a.m., two unknown suspects repeatedly battered a 7-Eleven employee because the air pump machine was not working at the 1930 N. Dale Mabry Hwy. store. The suspects were captured on surveillance video punching and kicking the victim while he was on the ground resulting in multiple injuries. The Hispanic male is 25-35 yoa, under 6', light complexion, short dark hair, mustache, large tattoo on left arm, white t-shirt w/ a black logo, black pants and white sneakers. The second Hispanic male suspect is 25-35 yoa, 5'8", 160-180 lbs., tan/olive complexion and a small pony tail. The suspects fled in a black Dodge Challenger, 2-door, tinted windows.

TPD Detectives Ask for Information on Suspects In Jewelry Store Burglary

On May 31, 2020 at 3:34 a.m., eighteen unknown suspects attempted to force entry into the Liberty Jewelry store, located at 1957 W. Dr. King Blvd. in Tampa. The suspects arrived in multiple vehicles and were caught on surveillance video breaking the glass in the front windows and door and even attempting to turn off the power to the building by tampering with the electrical box. The suspects were not able to gain entry into the store.

On July 31, 2020 at 5:43 a.m., two unknown males broke into the Ace Cash Express at 4025 W. Hillsborough Ave. The suspects attempted to force open the safe, but were unable to steal cash. Suspect #1, white or Hispanic male, thin, wearing long sleeve green shirt, dark shorts, orange covering on head, black/white sneakers. Suspect #2 white or Hispanic male, thin, red long sleeve shirt, red shorts, beige hat, white mask, gloves, black/red sneakers. The suspects left in a silver, Ford F250, with a tool box in the bed, sunroof & running boards.

On August 12, 2020 at 6:56 p.m., an unknown suspect stole a 14x7 Bigtex utility trailer, FL tag EMK135, from the Palm Gardens Assisted Living at 3850 Upper Creek Dr. in Sun City Center. The suspect was driving a gold, possibly Chevy pickup, black wheels and rims, with a metal tool box in back.
