On Sunday, July 14 at 9:37 P.M., two men forced their way into an apartment at the Tuscany Apartments, at 415 S. Mesa Hills. Once inside the men threatened an 18-year-old who lived at the apartment with a gun. The suspects beat the victim and shot him. The two men stole items from the apartment and fled. Both men were wearing ski masks.
The suspect with the gun is approximately 5’7” in height and is believed to be Hispanic. Investigators are certain that someone knows the identity of the suspects involved in this home invasion and shooting.

A man was murdered in a northeast El Paso neighborhood in April of 2023. Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department ask for help from the community in identifying those involved in this murder through the “Crime of The Week.”
On Saturday, April 29, at 3:11 A.M., Officers responded to a call of a vehicle that had crashed into a yard at the 5900 block of Ameen. The driver, 27-year-old Daniel Antonio Mergil, was found to have been shot and was taken to the hospital but did not survive. Investigators believe the shooting took place near the 6100 block of Ameen, near the U-Haul storage facility. A black 4-door sedan was captured on video fleeing from the scene. The vehicle has chromed rims and possibly chrome door handles. Mergil left behind a wife and a young child.

Driver Flees after Running Over and Killing a Woman June 10, 2024

On Tuesday, May 28 at 9:53 P.M., a woman began to cross the 6400 block of Doniphan at Borderland. She was crossing the street from west to east when the driver of a pickup truck struck her. The woman died at the scene and the driver fled the scene northbound on Doniphan. The truck involved appears to be a full-size grey or silver truck and may possibly have a cover on the bed. The vehicle should have front-end damage due to the crash.

A home was shot at in Northeast El Paso placing several residents inside the home in danger. Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department ask for help identifying these shooters through the “Crime of The Week.”
On Friday, May 17 at 10:18 P.M., multiple shots were fired into a home around the area of Branon St. and Rushing. Several residents were inside the home when the shooting took place including a child under 10 years of age. No injuries were reported; however, the shooting did result in a variety of damages to the home. Investigators found images of vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting. The vehicle is described as a red or orange Dodge Challenger with chrome rims and tinted windows.

Couple Burglarizes Eastside Tire Store March 10, 2024

On Friday, February 9 at 5:47 A.M., a couple exits a small pickup truck and they walk towards the C&M Tires business at 8900 Viscount. They broke a window and forced their way inside of the business. After ransacking items inside they located a small amount of cash. Each of them grabbed two Ironman GEN3 tires and left the business. The total value of the tires was $560.00. Both suspects were wearing hooded sweatshirts and believed to be using gloves. Investigators know someone has information on the identity of this burglarizing couple.

Two Men Stabbed in Central El Paso February 27, 2024

On Tuesday, February 6, at 2:17 P.M., two men were stabbed at the 900 block of N. Florence. Both victims were taken to the hospital and ultimately survived the attack. Detectives found security video that recorded a man that is believed to have been involved in the stabbing. The man is White or Hispanic, in his mid-30’s to early 40’s, has short hair and a beard. He wore a tan baseball cap, a gray t-shirt with the Adidas logo on the front, a dark jacket, dark pants, and dark shoes. Investigators are certain that someone knows the identity of this man.

On Monday, December 11, 2023, at 3:53 A.M., two men walked into the Circle K store located at 3291 N. Zaragoza. The suspects walked around the store and then selected a variety of items including alcoholic beverages. When the store employee refused to sell the alcohol to them they walked out of the store. Moments later, one of the men walked back into the store and made a threat of having a gun took five mini bottles of Fireball malt liquor and walked out of the store. The suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored 4-door Chevrolet.

On Sunday, October 15, 2023, at 1:54 A.M., an argument that began inside the El Jaguar Restaurant Bar escalated into a physical fight outside. During the fight, a handgun was produced and multiple shots were fired. A 17-year-old and 18-year-old male were wounded. 21-year-old Rosario Gonzalez was also wounded and taken to the hospital but did not survive. Investigators know that someone has information on the individuals responsible for the shooting death of Rosario Gonzalez.

Man Wounded By Shooter in Road Rage Incident January 08, 2024

On Wednesday, January 3, at 4:40P.M., two men were traveling on Loop 375 South near Vista Del Sol when they became involved in a road rage incident with the driver of another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle pulled out a handgun and fired it at the two men. One of the men was wounded on the leg. Witnesses describe the suspect as a White or Hispanic man 25 to 30 years of age, with long brown hair in a pony tail. He was wearing a tan colored hooded jacket. The suspect was driving a dark colored SUV possibly an Audi.

Motorcyclist Seriously Injured by Hit and Run Driver October 30, 2023

On Tuesday, October 17, at 1:15 P.M., 80-year-old, Luis Valles was found lying near the intersection of Kansas and 3rd. Officers working in the downtown area were informed by a passerby about Valles. The Officers immediately responded and began to provide Valles with first-aid. Fire Medical crews transported Valles to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Special Traffic Investigations Officers found evidence that suggested that Valles was run over by a vehicle. Investigators know that someone has information as to who was involved in the crash that killed Luis Valles.

Man Robs Woman Near Adult Club October 09, 2023

On Saturday, September 9 at 2:30 A.M., El Paso Police responded to an Assault in Progress call at the 11400 block of Chito Samaniego. The officer learned from the victim that a man had choked her and robbed her of a cell phone, cash, keys, and a backpack. Investigators discovered that the suspect had earlier been at the Bucks Cabaret at 11701 Gateway West. Security video at the club was able to capture images of the suspect. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his 20’s, 6’0”, 230lbs., and goes by the name of Albert. He fled the scene in a dark-colored Dodge Durango.

On Sunday, June 18, 2023, at 4:34 A.M., a man was seen walking in an alley between two businesses at a shopping center at 9001 Cashew. Moments later, the man broke the glass front door to the Casabe Venezuelan Restaurant. Once inside, the man stole a jar containing tips and then made his way to the cash register. He managed to open the register and stole the cash drawer. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. He is a Hispanic male in, his early to mid-20s, 5’7” in height, with a thin build. He was wearing a gray baseball cap with a logo on the center, and a dark green hooded sweatshirt with a possible flag design in the front.

On Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 3:45 A.M., a man used a large rock to break the glass front door to the Dollar General located at 8500 Dyer. The man burglarized the store walking to the beer section and taking at least two 18-packs of beer. The suspect dropped two other packs of beer in the burglary. The man appears to be a Hispanic male, using a blue shirt to hide his face. He was wearing a gray tee shirt, blue denim jeans, and boots. Investigators found evidence that the suspect may have fled into the neighboring Villa Ciento Apartments at 8604 Dyer.

The suspect ran from the scene north on Copia. The suspect is a Hispanic male in, his late teens or early 20’s, thin, 5’8” in height, and described as having Asian-looking eyes. On Monday, May 8, at 10:20 P.M., the suspect entered the Circle K store located at 12190 Montwood. The man ran behind the counter when the clerk momentarily stepped away. The suspect managed to grab a small undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene. Moments later the suspect went to the Circle K at 1135 Joe Battle. In this case, the suspect selected various items and then went behind the counter. The man threatened the clerk and implied that he was armed with a gun. The suspect stole a small amount of cash and fled. The suspect is described as being in his 20’a and was wearing a black beanie, gray hooded jacket, gray sweat pants, dark socks, and black Nike brand sandals.

On Saturday, May 13, at 4:38 A.M., a man walked into the Circle K store located at 7100 North Loop. The man went to the beverage machines and served himself a Slurpee. When the store clerk was cleaning the restrooms, the suspect ran behind the counter and took more than 50 packages of cigarettes, including Newports and Marlboros. The suspect threatened the clerk’s life and walked out with $463.08 in cigarettes, and a Slurpee.

Man Steals Money from Elderly Woman’s Account April 17, 2023
A man uses a Minnesota woman’s account to steal more than $1,700 at a Central El Paso bank. Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department ask for help identifying the man involved through the Crime of the Week.
On Monday, February 6, at 11:01 A.M., the unidentified suspect is captured on security video at the Wells Fargo located at 6175 Gateway West. The suspect manages to make two different withdrawals from the victim’s account. In total, the suspect stole $1,780.00 from the elderly woman’s account. The suspect is a Black male with a large build, average-length hair, a beard, and a visible tattoo on his left calf. The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with an image in memory of Josh Barnes.

On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 1 P.M., two men walked into the El Fandango Grocery store located at 1928 Olive. One of the men approached the store clerk, pulled out a handgun, and demanded money from the cash register. The clerk was unable to open the register. Both suspects walked towards the door to exit the business, and each grabbed a package of cookies and fled. Both men appear to be Hispanic. The suspect with the gun is in his late teens, has a thin build, a light complexion, and had his eyebrows shaved off. The second suspect is in his early 20s, has an average build and height.
