Two Westside Hotels Are Violently Held Up
EL PASO, TEXAS – Two hotels are violently held up in El Paso’s Westside by two men. The men were recorded on security cameras, and Detectives from the El Paso Police Department ask for the public’s help in identifying these violent robbers through, the Crime Stoppers, “Crime of The Week.” The first robbery took place on Friday, July 20th 2018, at 4:20a.m., at the “Sleep Inn” located at 953 Sunland Park Drive. In this case the two suspects forced their way into the lobby by forcing a door open. One of the men was armed with a knife and the other a rifle. The suspects ordered the hotel employee and a guest that was in the lobby to an area behind the front desk and demanded money from the business. During the robbery, the suspect with the rifle struck the employee in the forehead with the barrel of the weapon. The suspects took a cellular phone from the guest and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. The next robbery was on Sunday morning, July 29th 2018 at 3:00a.m., at the “Hampton Inn” located at 6411 N. Desert Blvd. The suspects forced their way into the lobby, but this time both were armed with revolvers. One of the suspects struck the employee with the weapon and demanded money from the business. During this time two guests walked in and were also ordered to the front desk area. The suspects demanded the wallets from the guests and one of the men also struck one of the guests with the handgun. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects are described as Hispanic males, in their 20’s one is approximately 5’7” in height the other is 5’10” in height and both covered their faces with black bandanas. One of the men was wearing a tan boonie hat, a long sleeve blue tee-shirt, black pants, and black gloves. The second suspect wore a blue baseball cap, with a white logo, a black tee-shirt with a design of a woman and the name “Fly Society,” black jeans, and red gloves. Man Killed By Hit & Run Driver In East El Paso County
EL PASO, TEXAS – A 45-year old man was killed by a hit and run driver in East El Paso County. Deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s assistance in finding the driver responsible for this death, through the Crime Stoppers, “Crime of the Week.” On Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at approximately 8:30 p.m. 45- year old Jesse Trevino Gonzales was walking southbound along the shoulder of the 1500 block of Horizon Blvd. During this time a vehicle that was traveling northbound on Horizon Blvd., struck Trevino and fled the scene. Trevino died from the injuries he received in the crash. Deputies have learned from witnesses that the vehicle fled the scene northbound on Horizon towards Darrington Rd. The vehicle is being described as a white, Lincoln Town Car, with chrome rims and blacked out taillights. The Sheriff’s Office has limited information on the vehicle that fled the scene and is asking the public for help. Thousands of Dollars Are Stolen From a Mission Valley Business
EL PASO, TEXAS – Two men stole more than two-thousand dollars at a Mission Valley Store using sleight of hand. Security cameras captured the suspects, and Detectives from the El Paso Police Department ask for your help in identifying these thieves through, the Crime Stoppers, “Crime of The Week.” On the afternoon of Tuesday, June 26th 2018, at 5:30p.m., two men walked in to the “Tractor Supply” store located at 9541 Alameda. Each man asked to exchange small bills for large bills. As the bills were being exchanged the men used various tricks while talking to the cashier in an attempt to confuse and take a larger amount then what was being exchanged. In total the two men stole $2,250.00 dollars from the business. The suspects left the store in a maroon, recent model 4-door sedan. The suspects are described as Black males, in their 30’s. One of the suspects is described to have a heavy build, and was wearing a white tee-shirt and khaki colored cargo shorts. The second suspect is described as having a medium build, and average height, he was wearing a polo style shirt and light colored pants. Investigators are certain that someone will recognize the men captured on the security video. Man Arrested For Beating Elderly Man At Central El Paso Carwash
EL PASO, TEXAS – The man featured on last week’s Crime of the Week for beating a 75-year old man and stealing his cellular phone has been arrested. Investigators from the El Paso Police Department’s, Central Regional Command Center Criminal Investigation Division, were able to identify the suspect due to tips received through the Crime Stoppers of El Paso program, and their investigation. On the night of Thursday, July 12th 2018, at 11:15p.m., Patrol Officers from the Central Regional Command responded to a call of a suspicious subject in the area of Delta and Tangier. As the Officers arrived to the area, they located 55-year old Jorge Mejia. Mejia had been identified as the subject involved in the Robbery at the 6901 Delta and an arrest warrant had been issued for his arrest. Mejia was taken into custody by the Officers and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for Aggravated Robbery(1st Degree Felony) and is being held under a $50,000 dollar bond. Elderly Man Beaten and Robbed At Central El Paso Carwash
EL PASO, TEXAS – An elderly man is beaten and robbed at Central El Paso carwash. The suspect was recorded by security cameras and Investigators from the El Paso Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying this robber through, the Crime Stoppers, “Crime of The Week.”
On the morning of Thursday, June 21st 2018, at 6:30a.m., a 75 year old man arrived to his work at “Rob’s Carwash” at 6901 Delta. The victim began sweeping the carwash bays, and found the suspect asleep in one of the bays. The victim woke the suspect and the suspect began to charge at the 75 year old man. The suspect began to punch the victim multiple times in the face. During this time the victim attempted to call for help and was punched more times by the suspect. The suspect then took the victim’s cell phone. The suspect then picked up a blanket he was using to sleep and fled the scene with the victim’s phone. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 30 to 40 years old, 5’7” in height, medium build, short dark hair, and was wearing dark sunglasses, a blue long-sleeved shirt, blue denim jean pants and black athletic shoes. Leads Sought In Northeast Murder
EL PASO, TEXAS – A man was murdered in Northeast El Paso two months ago and Detectives from the El Paso Police Department continue asking for the public’s help in solving this homicide through, the Crime Stoppers, “Crime of The Week.” On night of Friday, April 27th, 2018, at 9:27p.m., 39-year old Antonio Razo, was driving eastbound on Quail and stopped at the intersection of Quail and Railroad behind another car that was stopped at the stop sign. The driver of the other vehicle did not move at which time, Antonio Razo exited his car and approached the vehicle in front. During this time, an occupant from that car fired a gun at Razo, wounding him. The vehicle fled the scene after the shooting and witnesses immediately went to help the victim and called for help. Razo was taken to the hospital and later died from his injuries. The suspect vehicle is described as a light colored, 4-door car, possibly white or silver. The vehicle according to witnesses fled the scene southbound on Railroad. Robber Brutally Attacks Woman At Parking Lot
EL PASO, TEXAS – A woman is brutally attacked and robbed by a man at a west El Paso parking lot. Security cameras captured the suspect using credit cards stolen from the woman. Detectives with the El Paso Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying this violent robber through, the Crime Stoppers, “Crime of The Week.” On the early morning hours of Friday, May 25th of 2018, at 12:40a.m., the victim, a 20-year old female, was walking to her car in the parking lot of a shopping center at 2900 N. Mesa. The suspect began following the woman as she was walking towards the parking lot. The victim noticed the man and began to run from the man and the man ran after her throwing her to the ground. The suspect began hitting her on the head and demanded her money. The suspect threatened the victim with a knife and fled the scene with the victim’s purse. Investigators found the suspect had used one of the victim’s credit cards at several locations including the “Circle K” Store located at 3910 Dyer. The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male, in his 40’s, 5’9” in height, thin build, and short salt and pepper hair. The suspect was wearing a blue tee-shirt with a design on the front, blue denim jeans and white athletic shoes. The suspect is believed have been driving full-size extended cab pickup truck. Leads Sought On 2012 Murder Case
EL PASO, TEXAS – A murder case from 2012 in Northeast El Paso remains open. Detectives with the El Paso Police Department are asking for the public’s help in solving this murder through, the Crime Stoppers, “Crime of The Week.” On the afternoon of Wednesday, May 16th of 2012, 30-year old Lucostal Leon Holley arrived to the 11000 block of Rockdale and met with two other men. Shortly after arriving, witnesses observed Holley being pushed up against a fence by two other men. The only description by witnesses on the men was that they were heavyset black males. During the struggle Holley manages to break free and he ran to a home on Rockdale that had an open garage door. Holley went inside the home and closed the door and asked the resident of the home for help. Holley collapsed in the home and died from stab wounds he had received in the confrontation with the two men. Detectives know that someone knows who the two men that Lucostal Leon Holley had met are. Detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in bringing closure to the family of this murder victim. Information Sought On Burglaries At South Central Church
EL PASO, TEXAS – A Central El Paso church has been burglarized three times in four months. Investigators with the El Paso Police Department are asking for the public’s help in finding these burglars through, the Crime Stoppers, “Crime of The Week.” The burglaries have been taking place at the “Templo Del Calvario” church located at 605 S. Kansas St. The first burglary was reported on February 6th 2018, and took place, between the night of Monday February 5th 2018, and the afternoon of Tuesday, February 6th. The next break-in took place between the afternoon of Sunday, May 13th and the morning of Tuesday May 15th. The most recent burglary took place between the afternoon of Sunday, May 20th and the morning of Monday, May 21. In all of these cases it appeared that a door was forced open. The suspects ransacked the church and have stolen various items including televisions, tools, and musical instruments. The church is located in a neighborhood with many apartment complexes and through traffic. Investigators are certain that someone has information on these burglaries and those responsible. Man Struck By Car After Argument Over A Parking Spot
EL PASO, TEXAS – A man is struck by a vehicle after an argument over a parking spot in El Paso’s Mission Valley. Security cameras captured images of the suspect’s vehicle, and Detectives the El Paso Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying this suspect through, the Crime Stoppers, “Crime of The Week.” On the morning of Saturday, April 28th 2018, a man parked at a spot reserved for customers of the business, “Kike’s Motors” located at 7803 Alameda. The victim’s mother told the driver that the parking spot was reserved for the business. During this time an argument ensued and the victim, 49-year old Carlos Quintana confronted the driver of the vehicle. The argument escalated and at one point the victim was trying to prevent the suspect from leaving. The suspect ran over the victim and fled the scene, leaving Quintana severely injured. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, light complexion, dark hair, in his 20’s, approximately 6-feet in height, and had a thin build. The vehicle is described by witnesses as a dark blue or dark green Ford Expedition, with silver rims. Witnesses also described a blonde female in the passenger side of the vehicle. The victim was hospitalized for serious injuries. Man Uses A Stolen Credit Card From A Burglary
EL PASO, TEXAS – A man is captured on video using a stolen credit card at a Central El Paso convenience store. Investigators from the El Paso Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying this thief through, the Crime Stoppers, “Crime of The Week.” On the night of Friday, April 13th 2018, the victim went to an event at the El Paso County Coliseum, and had parked her vehicle in the parking lot of the coliseum. Sometime after 8p.m., someone burglarized her truck taking a purse that contained credit cards and other items. At approximately 9p.m., one of the victim’s credit cards was used at a McDonald’s restaurant at 5305 E. Paisano. At about 10:30p.m., the stolen credit card was used again at the Payan’s Gas Station at located at 2901 E. Paisano. Security cameras captured the suspect and the vehicle he was driving. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 25 to 30 years of age, and appears to have tattoos on his left arm and also possibly his right. On the day of the crime, he was wearing a camouflage baseball cap, a black tee-shirt with a stripe design on the front, and blue jeans. The suspect was observed driving a green, 4-door, Kia car. A Group of Men Forcefully Take a Pocket Motorbike
EL PASO, TEXAS – A man is robbed of a pocket motorbike by a group of men in El Paso’s Mission Valley. One of the men was recorded by security cameras at a gas station, and Detectives from the El Paso Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying these robbers through, the Crime Stoppers, “Crime of The Week.” On the early morning of Saturday, April 7th 2018, at 1:13a.m., the victim drive a pocket motorbike to the “Valero” gas station located at 7960 Gateway East. While at the gas station, a group of men in a blue B.M.W. began to yell at the victim. The victim quickly decided to leave and was followed by the men. The victim turned into the neighboring hotel and the driver of the car accelerated at a high rate of speed towards the victim, causing the victim to lose control of the motorbike and fall off. The suspects exited the car in the hotel parking lot and according to witnesses two stood over the victim, while two others took the motorbike and put it in the car. According to witnesses the suspects fled the scene on Gateway East. The driver of the B.M.W. is described as a black male, tall, approximately 6’ tall, and was wearing a camouflage shirt or jacket, denim jeans and black and grey shoes. The other males are described as black and also being approximately 6’ tall. Piedras. The man was armed with a knife and demanded money from the business. The suspect threatened the two employees and ordered them to ground. The suspect managed to take an undisclosed amount of money from the store. The man is described as a Hispanic male, between 5’5” in height to 5’10” in height, and was wearing a black baseball cap, a black hooded sweat shirt with a “Street Wise” logo and image on the front, Khaki colored pants, and Adidas Tennis Shoes. Witness observed the suspect running eastbound through an alley.
