This year will mark five years since Latricia McDade, 31, a dedicated mother of four, was fatally shot while heading home to iron her children’s clothes, as the McDade family continues searching for answers without avail.
McDade’s family says Latricia was a wonderful and loving mother who worked hard to provide for her four children. Latricia was “the joy of the party” and her friends and family enjoyed spending time with her.
The McDade family is searching for answers and Central Alabama CrimeStoppers stands with the McDade family and is asking anyone that has information regarding this senseless death to please come forward.
Montgomery Police Department says police and medics responded to the shooting on Friday, September 20, 2018, in the 200 block of Alabama River Parkway around 8:21 p.m. Authorities arrived at the scene and located an adult female who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. McDade was transported to Jackson Hospital Emergency Room for treatment. McDade succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased later that night.
In a 2018 Montgomery Advertiser interview, the family said McDade had just left her mother’s and sister’s residence prior to the shooting. McDade was headed home to iron her children’s clothes, prior to the shooting. McDade was in her vehicle when the shooting occurred. The shooting, the family said, was the result of an argument, between at least two unknown people.
The Montgomery Cold Case Task Force has accepted this case and classified it as a cold case in this ongoing investigation. Investigators say the pictured suspect, described as a black male, entered the business, took assorted tools, and left the business without paying. The suspect entered a silver, 2011, Chevrolet, Malibu, and left in an unknown direction.
Investigators say on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, and on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, the driver of the pictured vehicle stole property from the 1500 block of Parallel Street located on the North side of Montgomery. The suspect left the scene in the pictured vehicle in an unknown direction of travel.

Investigators say the suspect forcibly entered this location, stole property, and left the scene in an unknown direction of travel. At approximately 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22nd, 2022, George County Sheriff’s Deputies in Mississippi responded to a report of an Armed Robbery that occurred at the 4-Mile Truck Stop, in the Rocky Creek community of George County, Mississippi.
After further investigation, George County Sheriff’s Office Investigators identified the suspect’s vehicle as a 2014 Chrysler Sedan with an Alabama license plate displaying, 4EVAJ. Investigators were also able to obtain video surveillance of the two males at the property during the time of the robbery.
This is an ongoing investigation. The George County Sheriff’s Office (601.947.4811) and the Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers program reached out to Central Alabama CrimeStoppers in the hopes of identifying the suspects due to the vehicle license plate being registered in the Alabama River Region.

On Saturday, December 3, 2022, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Phenix City Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the area of the Riverwalk, located in the 200 block of 14th Street, Phenix City, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers located two adult victims whom both sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victims succumbed to their injuries and were later pronounced deceased. The victims were identified as, Darrelyn Harris, 40, and John Burkus, 31.

The White Hall Police Department and Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating the person(s) involved in the death of 23-year-old, Markeazz Umbray Holcombe aka Bray. On January 18, 2021, White Hall Police, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, and Alabama State Bureau Investigators responded to a gunshot victim found on Highway 80 near Sadie Drive, in White Hall Alabama. Upon arrival, Investigators located a white Honda Accord at final rest, in a ditch, alongside U.S. Highway 80 near West bound traffic lanes. Mr. Holcombe was found deceased inside the vehicle.
Mr. Holcombe was driving a 2012 White Honda Accord Crosstour belonging to his mother.
Investigators continue their search of trying to determine a motive and anything that could lead to the killer(s) responsible for taking the life of Mr. Holcombe.
