On Sunday, June 28, 2020, at approximately 11:40 a.m., Montgomery Police Patrol units responded to the 5900 Block of Oakleigh Road regarding a subject suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was identified as Keshon Gardner and was pronounced deceased on the scene. Detectives later discovered that the vehicle used during the Murder of Gardner is a newer white model Ford Fusion with dark tinted windows.
Montgomery City Councilman Oronde K. Mitchell is offering a $2,500 reward to match Central Alabama Crimestoppers increase of $1,000 to a $2,500 reward to be paid for any information that leads to an arrest. This brings the reward total to $5,000.

Investigators say that on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at about 10:00 p.m., patrol responded to the 3800 block of South Court Street in reference to a murder where Daniel Jackson was shot and killed.
Investigators continue their search for evidence and witnesses and are now asking for assistance from the public to come forward if they were present during the time of the shooting. They are also asking for any information on possible suspects and vehicles involved.

The United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force has officially notified CrimeStoppers of the arrest of Fugitive Patrick Bass. He is no longer wanted by Law Enforcement.
Members of the Fugitive Task Force took Patrick Bass into custody on June 15, 2022. An anonymous tip from CrimeStoppers led authorities to the location of Bass in Montgomery, AL. He was taken into custody by Task Force Members. He was then transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
Patrick Bass was charged with Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, 3 counts of Possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, and Possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. At the time of his arrest, he was found in possession of close to $60,000 worth of powder cocaine, crack cocaine, and marijuana.

On 06/03/2022, the Opelika Police Department began investigating a report of a robbery which occurred at Big Cat, located at 3700 Pepperell Parkway. Over the next 5 days, three more robberies were reported at residences in the area. The incidents involved multiple black males who were armed with rifles or pistols. A victim described one of the suspects as being a black male with short facial hair and was wearing a black beanie.
One suspect vehicle is described as a red minivan, and another is a dark colored SUV.

On June 7, 2022, at approximately 3:30 am, a subject described as a white male, driving a possible 07' or 06' silver Ford Escape Hybrid, was seen puncturing the fuel tank of a white Chevy work van at the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions building (Prattville, AL). The suspect is then seen pouring the gasoline taken from the Chevy van into his vehicle.
Once identified the suspect will be charged with Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle and Theft of Property 4th degree.

Contact was made with the complainant who advised that two unknown males stole property from the business. Once outside the victim confronted the two suspects about the stolen items and was struck by the suspect’s vehicle, a white Nissan Maxima.

The Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Burglary and Theft and seeks the public’s help in identifying the suspects.
Tallapoosa County Investigators released photos and video of suspects in the act of committing a residential burglary. The crime occurred on April 10, 2022, between 7:40 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. Investigators advise that there are four suspects in the case, two males and two females. Suspects are driving what appears to be a dark colored sedan in the make of a Honda or Toyota.
Two sheds and the residence were all broken into, and items were stolen from both locations.

On June 1, 2021, at approximately 9:30 pm, the Phenix City Police Department responded to 11th Avenue in Phenix City, Alabama in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, Officers found an unresponsive female lying on the front porch of her apartment. The female was identified as 36 y/o Sharmeethia L. Mason of Phenix City, AL. Medical units arrived on scene and pronounced Mason deceased. Mason sustained a gunshot wound.
Witness statements advised that an unidentified subject walked around the corner and shot Mason as she sat on her porch. The subject fled the scene on foot. Several shell casings were recovered from the scene.

At the scene, contact was made with the pedestrian who was identified as Montgomery resident 29-year-old Reginald Davis Jr. Davis sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Reginald Davis Jr. was pronounced deceased on May 30, 2021 as a result of the collision.

The Montgomery Police Department seeks assistance from the public regarding an investigation involving a pedestrian being struck and killed by a vehicle that left the scene of the incident.
On Saturday, May 29, 2021, around 10:00 p.m., Montgomery Police and Fire Medics responded to the area of Eastern Boulevard and I-85 in reference to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. At the scene, contact was made with the pedestrian who was identified as Montgomery resident 29-year-old Reginald Davis Jr. Davis sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Reginald Davis Jr. was pronounced deceased on May 30, 2021 as a result of the collision.
Montgomery Police are now seeking information concerning a silver or beige Ford Fusion, who they now say fled the scene. The driver is described as being a possible tall black male with a beard. It is unknown if the driver sustained any injuries from the collision.

The Millbrook Police Department is requesting assistance identifying three subjects who entered a business in the 100 block of Kelly Boulevard in Millbrook, AL on 5/10/2022 and engaged in a quick-change scam for the amount of $1,400.00.

Quick Change Artist (National Association of Bunco Investigators NABI)
A Bunco crime; a Quick-Change Artist, or sometimes, a Short Change Artist, is someone who steals money by confusing cashiers while they are making change. They do this in many ways. Usually the thief attempts to distract or confuse the cashier during the transaction, does a quick sleight of hand, and then claims they were not given the correct amount. They're called "artists" because they are extraordinarily good at what they do.
Common Targets
Quick-change con artists target new or inexperienced salespeople who are trying to deliver fast customer service. They also target young employees who may not be as aggressive in managing the confusion of multiple transactions and are wary of slowing down a line of customers. The types of establishments typically victimized by fast-cash scams can include fast-food joints, gas stations, hotels and even ice cream stores.
Recognizing the Con Job
Employers can train salespeople about how to spot a quick-change scam. For example, employees should be wary of customers trying to purchase a low-cost item with a large bill. Employees should request that the customer use a smaller bill for the transaction. If the customer doesn't have smaller bill, employees can direct them to the nearest bank to break the large bill into smaller denominations. Small businesses can post signs which explicitly state that they only do transactions with bills no larger than $20. Employees should be warned of customers requesting multiple transactions and of duos that may be working together to distract them.
Stopping the Scam
Police advise that cashiers should place large bills on top of the cash register, the till or on the counter in full view. Cashiers shouldn't put a large bill in the cash register until they've completed one transaction. Also, the cashier should count aloud the change that has been made. If the customer starts to barrage them with requests for multiple transactions, they should purposefully slow the transaction process down and manage each transaction separately. If the customer begins to bully or intimidate the cashier and the confusion escalates, the cashier should stop the transaction completely, close the register and call for the manager.

The United States Postal Inspection Service has officially notified CrimeStoppers of the arrest of Damion Lavar Stowes Jr. and Jyria Ye’Vae Barnes. Stowes and Barnes were wanted by the United States Postal Inspection Service regarding Fraud.
A representative from the United States Postal Inspection Service advised that an anonymous tip from CrimeStoppers led authorities to the location of Damion Lavar Stowes Jr. and Jyria Ye’Vae Barnes who were arrested together in Memphis, TN on May 9, 2022.
Both Damion Lavar Stowes Jr. and Jyria Ye’Vae Barnes were charged with four counts of Fraud each by the United States Postal Inspection Service. A reward is being offered to the tipster to be paid within 30 days.

The Talladega Police Department has officially notified CrimeStoppers of the arrest of Capital Murder Suspect Shu’n’tavis Twyman. Twyman is no longer wanted by Law Enforcement.
Talladega Investigator D. McDaniel advise that Shu’n’tavis Twyman turned himself in to the Talladega Police on Monday, May 9, 2022. No other details were given.
On 04/30/2022 at approximately 12:45 a.m., Officers with the Talladega Police Department was dispatched E. Sloan Avenue in Talladega, AL. on a report of a person being shot. When Officers arrived, they located 25-year-old Spencer Lamar Reeves, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Reeves was transported to Citizens Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators were able to develop suspects in the case and Capital Murder warrants were issued on 19-year-old Keontae Threatt and 19-year-old Shu’n’tavis Twyman.
