Investigators released photos of a white in-color Ford Ranger pulling a black trailer driven by an unknown person and an unknown passenger occupying the vehicle. Investigators say the suspect described as a black male, purchased the pictured UTV, a 2019 Polaris Ranger side-by-side with a fake cashier’s check in the amount of $19,000.00. When asked to see I.D., the suspect told the victim that he had forgotten his wallet and began acting nervous. The victim reluctantly accepted the check and the suspect left with the UTV in the pictured vehicle.
Investigators say the victim believed he observed a “46” on the suspect’s Alabama license plate on the back of his vehicle. There are no other details available for release at this time.

On Saturday evening, May 20, 2023, at around 7:22 p.m., police responded to Johnson Street and Bettis Avenue, Thomasville, AL, in reference to a shooting. The victim involved was transported by personal vehicle to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators responded to an area hospital and located one victim who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim, Andy Crawford Jr., succumbed to his injuries several days later and was pronounced deceased.
Investigators say the victim was a passenger in a tan-colored, Honda Civic, driving in the area of Johnson Street and Bettis Avenue when an unknown subject fired multiple shots toward the occupants of the vehicle. The passenger, Crawford Jr., was wounded by the gunfire. The driver of the vehicle immediately drove the victim to a local hospital for treatment.
