The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a promoting prison contraband case and seeks the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in the investigation.
On Tuesday, April 25, 2023, investigators say a Dallas County Detention Facility Detainee was transported to a local hospital emergency room to receive treatment for a possible medical emergency. It was there the detainee attempted to obtain prison contraband that was left for him by an unknown suspect, however, due to the swift response by Dallas County Investigators, the contraband was located on the detainee and confiscated prior to the detainee returning to the correctional facility.
Investigators say video surveillance cameras captured footage of the unknown suspect who left the contraband in a bathroom located near the emergency room. The contraband was strategically placed by the suspect to allow the detainee the ability to obtain the contraband and bring it unlawfully back to the correction facility. Investigators say the suspect is described as a black male, with a beard, wearing a t-shirt, and gray shorts. There are no other details available for release at this time.
The suspect is wanted for promoting prison contraband 2nd degree, a class C felony.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a felony theft and seeks the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
Investigators say on Thursday, April 13, 2023, during the evening an unknown subject drove onto Whittle Farms, located on Pineapple Highway in Butler County, the suspect exited their vehicle and stole a trailer and multiple items.
Investigators stay the unknown suspect stole a 16' Utility trailer with 2 axles, a hydraulic jack, an air compressor, several oxygen & acetylene tanks, torch & hoses, an older model Chainsaw, a 300' welding lead, fishing rods & reels with a tackle box, batteries, battery charger, a yellow generator, and 100 Gallons of gasoline.
The utility trailer was recovered by law enforcement in Wilcox County. Investigators say the suspect was seen on video captured in the area where the trailer was dumped. The suspect attempted to sell the stolen fishing rod to residents of the area. Photos of the vehicle and suspect are being released by investigators. Investigators say the suspect exited his vehicle and damaged the facility’s coin machine and the coin dispenser for the vacuum cleaner, stealing approximately $450.00 in currency.
