Investigators say on Monday, March 27, 2023, the driver of the pictured truck stole property from the 900 block of West South Boulevard. The suspect left the scene in the pictured vehicle in an unknown direction of travel.

On 03/22/2023, the Opelika Police Department began investigating an Identity Theft and Theft of Property, First Degree, which occurred at Beshears Tractor and Equipment, located at 1809 Columbus Parkway.
The business was contacted via telephone by a female identifying themselves as “Tamara Johnson” regarding purchasing multiple mowers. Johnson was initially approved for a loan. Four suspects occupying a white truck, picked up two mowers on 03/21/2023. Beshears Tractor and Equipment was later notified that Johnson was denied the loan due to fraud.
Surveillance video shows two of the four suspects who picked up the mowers along with a white Dodge Ram truck without a tag. The first suspect, is described as a black female with short red hair, seen wearing a white shirt and black and white pants. The second suspect, described as a black male, is seen wearing a white t-shirt, dark pants and sneakers.

The Phenix City Police Department is investigating a homicide and seeks the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
On Saturday, February 4, 2023, at about 2:45 p.m., police responded to the 2700 block of 6th Street, in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, police located, an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as, Daeqwon Mackey, 22, was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Investigators say the shooting appears to be an apparent drive-by shooting and say a silver Hyundai Sonata was seen in the area at the time of the incident.
The circumstances surrounding this ongoing homicide are under investigation. No further details have been released at this time.
Investigators are requesting information regarding this homicide investigation and are asking anyone that may have information to please come forward.

The Opelika Police Department is investigating a fraudulent use of a debit card case and seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
Opelika Police Investigators released a photo of two unknown subjects wanted for fraudulent use of a debit card. The offense occurred, Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Walmart, 2900 Pepperell Parkway, Opelika, Alabama. Investigators say the pictured suspects, two adult males, used a stolen debit card to purchase an iPhone 11.
Investigators say surveillance video shows the suspects, described as two black males completing the transaction with a stolen debit card. The first suspect is seen on surveillance video wearing a white tank top, grey sweatpants, and black and white Jordan shoes. The second suspect is seen wearing khaki pants, a black jacket, and dark-colored crocs with black socks. The suspects were seen leaving the scene in a grey in color, Dodge, Charger, with parts of the bumper painted blue. The vehicle left in an unknown direction of travel. There are no other details available for release at this time.
The suspects are wanted for fraudulent use of a debit card, a class C felony.
