On March 25, 2024, the Phenix City Police Department Criminal Investigations Division arrested 38-year-old Navansley Vonquez Smith of Phenix City, AL for the murder of Jennifer Marie Anderson.  Anderson’s body was discovered on October 27, 2023, on Brickyard Road in an advanced stage of decomposition.

The Phenix City Police Department continues to seek answers in an October 27, 2003, homicide investigation.  

 

Investigators say on October 27, 2023, at approximately 1:15 p.m. the Phenix City Police Department Patrol Division responded to a call on Brickyard Road near Fontaine Road in reference to a deceased person. Upon arrival, Officers discovered the body of an adult female in an advanced stage of decomposition. The Phenix City Police Department Criminal Investigations Division arrived on the scene and began an investigation.

 

Investigators say the victim was identified as Jennifer Marie Anderson, 44, of Phenix City.

The circumstances surrounding this homicide investigation are ongoing and no other details are available for release at this time.

The Prattville Police Department is seeking information regarding an Unlawful Breaking & Entering of a Vehicle that occurred in Prattville, Alabama on March 15, 2024.

 

On March 15th, an unknown male arrived at the Circle K located at Main Street & Memorial Drive. The subject was driving a black Mercedes (possibly early 2000s E-Class). Investigators say the male exited his vehicle and stole a purse from the interior of another vehicle. The owner of the purse was inside the Circle K business during the theft.

 

The unknown male then reentered his vehicle and left the parking lot, traveling southbound on S Memorial Drive. The suspect was described as a black male wearing a black shirt, capri jean pants, and sunglasses.
