CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in locating witnesses to a Cruelty to Animals in the First Degree case that occured in the area of the Ulehawa Stream bank near Laanui Street in Nanakuli.
On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at approximately 7:00 a.m., the complainant discovered that his dog “Bully” was missing from his yard. He was later informed by a neighbor that they had located Bully deceased with multiple stab wounds on the Ulehawa Stream bank. Bully was a brown and white Pit Bull/ Sharpei mixed dog, approximately 30 to 40 lbs.
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to inform the public of an Uber scam that is currently occurring.
There are reports that Uber drivers are receiving telephone calls from someone who is claiming to be an Uber customer service representative. The person then asks for the Uber driver’s account information at which time it is given. The driver’s later discover that money that they have earned from their fares have been withdrawn from their accounts.
We advise the public to never disclose your account information to anyone over the telephone. If you have doubts about the person that you are speaking with, hang up the telephone.
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to inform the public about an increase of recent business burglaries occurring due to the suspect obtaining keys from lockboxes.
There have been cases recently where businesses were burglarized after the suspect broke open key lockboxes and used the key to enter the business. Business owners are urged to refrain from leaving spare keys in a lockbox. Consider having a designated employee to be in possession of the spare keys and consider having delivery times adjusted to when an employee will be present.
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to inform the public of an extortion scam that is currently occurring.
There are reports that victims are meeting people online from social media platforms or dating apps. The victims then engage in conversations with the other person and are instructed to engage in inappropriate behavior or to send lewd photos. Once the victim engages in the behavior, the other person then threatens to disseminate the lewd photos or videos unless a ransom is paid.
We advise the public to not comply with requests to send lewd videos or photos.
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in locating witnesses to an Arson in the First Degree that happened in the Sand Island area.
On Sunday, August 8, 2021, at approximately 6:10 a.m., HFD responded to a fire call at the Frank Coluccio yard located at 50 Sand Island Access Road. Fire investigators have since determined that the fire had been intentionally set. An Arson in the First Degree case has been generated.
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in locating witnesses to an Attempted Murder in the Second Degree that happened in the area of the Mililani Cemetery and Waiawa Road.
On Sunday, July 4, 2021, between 1:00 a.m. to 2:30 a.m., two males were shot by an unknown suspect(s). Both males were later transported to the hospital for treatment of their gunshot wounds.
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male who is wanted for Arson in the First Degree.
On Thursday, June 24, 2021, at approximately 8:50 p.m., an unknown male was captured on video surveillance entering a vacant house located at 1620 Hauiki Street. Shortly after the male exited the home, it became engulfed in flames. Fire Investigators have determined that the fire had been intentionally set.

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in locating witnesses to an Attempted Murder in the SecondDegree that happened in the Waianae area.
On Sunday, May 16, 2021, at approximately 12:20a.m., HPD Officers responded to a call of gun shots being fired in the area of 87-1029 Hakimo Road.Upon their arrival, they ascertained that a 53 year old male and a 30 year old male had been shot. Both males were transported to an area hospital for treatment of their gunshot wounds.

Multiple individuals received a phone call from someone claiming to be with the Honolulu Police Department. The caller then asks for a cash donation, which will go towards training new police officers.
The HPD does not solicit donations from the public. If you receive a phone call from someone soliciting donations on behalf of the HPD, please hang up.
