CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to inform the public about a Hawaiian Telcom scam that is occurring.
There have been reports of residents receiving an email from someone purporting to be a Hawaiian Telcom employee. The employee is stating that the customer’s online account needs to be reset and asks for the customer’s username and password. In cases where this information was given, the customer’s email contacts receives emails purporting themselves to be the customer requesting money.
Do not give usernames and passwords to anyone. Keep this information confidential. If you receive any type of correspondence from utility companies, feel free to contact the company to verify any requests.

On Sunday, March 7, 2021, at approximately 3:00 a.m., HPD officers responded to a call of a vehicle in the middle of the H-1 Freeway east bound between the Kapolei and Kunia off ramp. Upon their arrival, they discovered a male seated in the driver’s seat of a black Dodge Caravan with traumatic injuries. The male was transported to the hospital where pronouncement of his death was made. The victim had been involved in an altercation with a male who was driving a silver or gray colored four door vehicle. The male later fled the scene.

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like the public’s assistance in locating witnesses of an Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer that occurred fronting the Waimanalo 7-Eleven located at 41-1540 Kalanianaole Highway.
On Monday, March 1, 2021, at approximately 10:28 p.m., an HPD officer was sent to a call regarding a male that refused to leave the Waimanalo 7-Eleven. Upon the officers arrival he approached the male at which time the male physically assaulted the officer. There were two witnesses who assisted the officer in apprehending the suspect. Investigators would like to speak to the witnesses regarding the incident.

On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at approximately 1:58 a.m., at the intersection of Kawaihao Street and Kamani Street, an unknown male driving a white colored four-door sedan discharged a firearm and hit the victim once resulting in injury.
Suspect: Unknown local Asian male
Age: 30s
Hair: Flat top
Clothing: Unknown but was seen wearing a gaiter face mask
Weapon: Dark colored handgun
Suspect Vehicle: White four-door sedan
UPDATE: 23-year-old Jake Edwards has been charged with second-degree murder following Tuesday's fatal stabbing in Hawaii Kai. Bail is set at 1,000,000.
On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at approximately 1:58 a.m., a 37 year old male victim was walking on Kawaihao Street in the Kakaako area when he was involved in a verbal altercation with another male. As the argument escalated, the male shot the victim with a handgun and fled in a newer white colored sedan. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The suspect was described as a local Asian male, fair complexion, with dark short hair with a flat top. It appears that this was not a random incident. Today an Oahu Grand-Jury indicted Keith Catolico for the kidnapping and Kahala home invasion robbery which occurred in November 2020. HPD later arrested him on the grand jury warrant. Bail has been set at $1 million dollars. Detectives are continuing to actively investigate the home invasion robberies.
