015/23 News Release - Attempted Murder Suspect
April 27, 2023

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male who is wanted for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree.


On Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at approximately 11:50 p.m., a BMW pulled into a parking lot located on Liliha Street and made a U-turn. An unknown suspect in the white BMW fired multiple rounds into a group of individuals and fled Mauka on Liliha Street.

014/23 News Release - Phone Spoofing
April 11, 2023

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to inform the public of reports of people receiving spoofed phone calls from the Honolulu Police Department.
 
Multiple individuals are reporting that they received a phone call from someone claiming to be with HPD. In one incident the person used the name of Lieutenant Andrew Maddock and instructed the victim to open a document that was sent via email.
 
The public is reminded that the Honolulu Police Department does not call, text, or email people to solicit payment electronically or by phone. Hawaii residents are also advised not to provide credit card numbers or other personal information to callers claiming to represent a law enforcement agency.
 
The HPD does not solicit donations from the public. if you receive a phone call from someone soliciting donations on behalf of the HPD, please hang up.
 
PHONE SPOOFING
 
There is an app that allows phone spoofing. it conceals the number of the phone being used and uses another phone number to appear in your caller ID.
 
It can appear to be a Federal Government Agency or your local police department. This can also be used to imitate utility companies, Hawaiian Electric Company or Board of Water Supply, in order to collect false debts.

013/23 News Release Attempted Murder Suspect Wanted
April 09, 2023

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male who is wanted for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree.

On Friday, April 7, 2023, at approximately 9:20 p.m., the victim was approached by a male in the parking lot of the Mililani 24 Hour Fitness. The male shot at the victim with a handgun before dumping an unknown acidic liquid on the victim. The male fled the scene in an unknown direction.

011/23 News Release - Attempted Kidnapping Suspect
March 24, 2023

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male who is wanted for Attempted Kidnapping.

 

On Monday, March 20, 2023, at approximately 7:10 p.m., the victim was sitting at the city’s The Bus stop in the area of Haloa Drive and Kukila Street when an unknown male approached her. The male then went behind the victim struck her on her head and attempted to force her away from the bus stop. The victim struggled and was able to get away.

009/23 News Release - Attempted Murder and Robbery Suspects Wanted
March 20, 2023

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in locating three males who are wanted for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and Robbery in the First Degree.

 

On Sunday, March 5, 2023, at approximately 3:40 p.m., the victim was at Makaha Beach Park when three males approached him, brandished handguns and demanded his property. The victim ran towards the beach at which time the suspects fired numerous shots in his direction, one in which struck his vehicle. The victim continued running to the beach while the suspects fired more shots towards him. At the time of the shooting, the beach was crowded with numerous beachgoers which included adults and young children.

008/23 News Release - Unattended Death Witnesses Wanted
March 16, 2023

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to ask the public for their assistance in locating witnesses to an Unattended Death that happened in the Ward area.

On Thursday, March 16, 2023, at approximately 6:00 a.m., a passerby discovered an unresponsive male with fatal injuries at the intersection of Captain Cook Avenue and Emerson Street. Emergency Medical Services was activated and pronouncement of his death was made. The victim has been identified as David Dodd.

007/23 News Release - Business Burglaries Involving Key Lockboxes
February 24, 2023

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to inform the
public about an increase of recent business burglaries occurring due to the
suspect obtaining keys from lockboxes.

There have been cases recently where businesses were burglarized after the
suspect broke open key lockboxes and used the key to enter the business.
Business owners are urged to refrain from leaving spare keys in a lockbox.
Consider having a designated employee to be in possession of the spare keys
and consider having delivery times adjusted to when an employee will be
present.

002/23 News Release - Sexual Assault Suspect Wanted
January 13, 2023

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a male who is wanted for Sexual Assault in the Second Degree.
 
On Monday, January 9, 2023, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the victim was in the ocean behind Waikiki Police Station with her sister. An unknown male approached them and told them that there were turtles further out. Both females held onto the male as he sawm further into the ocean. While guiding them to where the turtles allegedly were, the male sexually assaulted the younger sister then swam away.

074/22 News Release - Robbery Suspect
December 14, 2022

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male who is wanted for Robbery in the Second Degree.

 

On Monday, December 12, 2022, at approximately 9:00 p.m., an elderly female was asleep in her home on Hale Koa Drive when an unknown entered. The male assaulted the victim and took jewelry from within the residence then fled. One of the items taken was a Rolex Yacht-Master watch.
